Pavarotti’s Family At War: £12M Debt Shock
Even though he was and still is one of the greatest opera singers, Luciano Pavarotti’s assets were far slimmer than anyone predicted. The singer died last month aged 71, leaving a whooping £12million according to reports from Italy.
Giorgio Bernini, lawyer for the star’s second wife Nicoletta, said: “That the maestro had debts is no secret. In the final years he cut back on shows and had hospital bills.”
Pavarotti had more than £5million in mortgages on homes in New York, Monte Carlo and in his home city of Modena, north Italy. Also bank records show that he had a £7million overdraft.
Pavarotti’s agent Terri Robson commented on the issue: “It is of no concern to anyone but family.”
