Perhaps not completely extinguish but according to Google there’s less E-mail Spam because of the efficacy of filters, which may suggest that lots of spammers have gotten discouraged and have stopped trying to get through Google’s spam filters.

I’ve always thought that Gmail is the best free web mail service available, I have used it for years and I will certainly continue to do so. In my opinion Google mail is perhaps even better than numerous paid services, not only spam-wise.
