I absolutely love lightning. There’s something magical and soothing about and it’s one of the most beautiful natural occurrences happening.

It’s all fine and good watching lightning from a safe distance in your home and I wouldn’t really want to be somewhere in the middle of a field swinging metal objects.

So I’ve just read some astonishing facts about lightning and lightning hitting people… and it seems that men are four times more likely to be struck by lightning. Um, so does testosterone play a role?

But seriously, being struck by the power is nature isn’t anything you would want to experience… even though it’s not necessarily fatal and only about 20 percent of lightning victims are immediately struck dead.

About 70 percent of lightning victims suffer from residual effects, most commonly affecting the brain.
