Teen Arrested For Burglary – But Can You Burgle Something That Technically Doesn’t Exist?
This is quite hilarious and sparks off some questions: A 17 year old gamer was arrested by Dutch police for burglary and hacking. Apparently he burglarized an online community/game, Habbo Hotel, that reminds me of SecondLife.
The game lets you create virtual characters and you can have your own virtual room in the virtual hotel with virtual furniture which can be bought with habbo credits which can be purchased for real money.
So the teen decided his room was too boring and hacked into other gamers accounts to steal their furniture to pimp his room and now he has been charged with hacking and burglary. That must have been some damn fine virtual furniture for his virtual ass.
Charging him for theft may seem ridiculous to some but one should bare in mind that behind the online game is real money, real credit card details ect… so serves him right.
i want to play!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
